Jerry Jones Not Worried About McFadden's Hamstrings

Darren McFadden opened training camp on the physically unable to perform list

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones isn’t overly concerned with Darren McFadden’s hamstring issues, even though the latest of these hamstring issues has the veteran on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list to begin training camp.

I am disappointed, but I understand,” Jones said, per Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I would rather him be working through that problem now than three or four weeks from now. With that group, we’ve got to keep the Giants in mind.”

McFadden missed time with one hamstring issue earlier in the summer. He’s out now with a second hamstring injury, one he suffered when running routes in the week before camp. He’s missed time with hamstring injuries in two of his seven seasons, the last instance coming in 2013.

“That’s natural that it could cause an inordinate concern, because that has plagued him,” Jones said. “But I’m not worried. Because it has happened, I’m thankful it’s happening right now. The plan for these guys is to be out there against the Giants. We know they have to get ready. There’s no trying to circumvent that. But everything I see, he should be ready.”
