Dallas Mavericks' Jason Terry talks about the raffle of a Mavs NBA Championship Ring for charity.
Are you one of those die-hard Dallas Mavericks fans who lost their voice cheering for the team during the NBA Finals last season? Well, now you have a chance to wear the Mavs' championship ring.
Jason Terry got an extra NBA championship ring, and he's raffling it through Celebrities for Charities.
"It's a unique opportunity, man, and these fans, you know, they were proud of us. And everywhere you go, what ... they ask you is, 'Let me see that ring.' And now someone is going to be able to say, 'Hey, not only can you see it -- but I got it,'" said Terry.
A minimum purchase of $10 gets you five chances to win the ring and help the Jason Terry Foundation, which helps inner-city children further their education after high school.
The winner not gets a ring from JET, they also get two tickets to the Mavs game against the Clippers on Monday, April 2.
That night, Terry will give the winner a personal tour of the locker room as well as photos and autographs.
If the winner is coming from out of town, he or she will get $2,000 toward airfare and two nights hotel accommodations for Sunday and Monday.
And if you are worried about having to pay Uncle Sam for the taxes on the ring, the winner also gets a cash prize in the amount of $18,150 to mitigate the tax liability. But don't even think about cashing the check -- the money will be paid to the IRS and the state of Massachusetts, where Celebrities for Charity is based.
The deadline to enter is 1 p.m. Central Time on March 26, 2012. The winner will be drawn that day.
