Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick won't be coming to Arlington in July.

Cowboys Stadium will not be transformed into a world-class tennis facility.

The Cowboys announced the inaugural Cowboys Tennis Classic scheduled for July 10 has been postponed.

The event announced last month would have featured stars Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick.

The plan to set up a court across the end zone in the stadium called for a seating arrangement allowing for 20,000 fans.

Customers who purchased tickets will be given refunds.

The tennis matches would have marked a first for Cowboys Stadium. Since opening in 2009, the facility has played host to a variety of events including football and basketball games as well as soccer and boxing matches. The stadium has also been the site of concerts, proms, a high school graduation and business meetings.
