Holland Not a Fan of New Pace Rules

If you haven't heard David Ortiz's take on the new rule saying batters must keep one foot in the box between pitches, you should. It's pretty funny.

While Ortiz is probably the highest profile player to be so outspoken about the new pace of the game rules MLB is installing, several players are voicing their displeasure — hitters and pitchers alike. One of those pitchers is Rangers No. 2 starter Derek Holland.

Holland is the team's rep for the MLBPA and voiced his opinion on Monday.

“In my opinion, I think it’s stupid,” Holland told The Dallas Morning News. “Let us play the game. You can’t make guys go faster. Everybody has a rhythm, and part of the game is trying to disrupt rhythm and timing of other players. It was never an issue before. I don’t want to be rushed.”
