Returning to Grand Prairie, the first-place Airhogs will take on cross-town rivals, the Fort Worth Cats, the team from which the ‘Hogs took the American Association South crown in 2008.

The series will be quintessential independent ball, meaning competitive games, exciting young players and plenty of promotions.

On Friday, QuikTrip Park will host yet another Free Stuff Friday, during which the first 1,500 fans through the gates will receive a free gym bag courtesy of Red Dog.

Sundays at QuikTrip mean “Family Sundays” which mean $1 hot dogs and sodas.

But the height of promotion during this heated series will be on Saturday night, when the AirHogs will salute Twinkies, everyone’s favorite packaged, near-indestructible snack cake.

The event coincides with the corporate move of the Interstate Bakery Company -- which produces Wonderbread, Hostess and Dolly Madison products -- from Kansas City to Dallas.

The Cats are currently atop the standings in the South Division.

The series will start on Friday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
