    The playoffs are here!

We'll start with the biggest classification of all, Class 5A Division I:

Best potential 2nd-round matchup: This is without question the likely matchup between DeSoto and Dallas Skyline. There would be enough talent on the field to field a competitive college football team if these two squads met up, and it appears to be a forgone conclusion. All that needs to happen is a Skyline win over Rowlett and a DeSoto win over Bryan.

Easiest road to Final Four: Euless Trinity. It's been an up-and-down year for the Trojans, but they don't get much of a test until the fourth round when they'll likely play Arlington or Coppell. A win there would have the Trojans one win from the state title game.

    Cinderella: Arlington

    Class 5A Division II:

Best potential 2nd-round matchup: Again, this is an easy one. Southlake Carroll-Allen. Each team has one loss and each team's loss came earlier in the season before both going on tears. Carroll should have an easy time with a familiar foe in Colleyville Heritage and Allen gets Irving Nimitz.

Easiest road to Final Four: Cedar Hill. The No. 1 team in the state has a tough draw with Flower Mound Marcus in the first round, but that's a game the Longhorns should win. Then they'd likely draw Abilene. This road really isn't all that easy, it's just easier than the bottom half of the bracket.

    Cinderella: Arlington Bowie

    Class 4A Division I:

Best potential 2nd-round matchup: There really aren't a lot that stand out here involving local teams, but I guess I'll go with Carrollton Newman Smith-Sherman winner against Dallas Carter.

Easiest road to Final Four: Denton Guyer or Denton Ryan -- whoever wins the highly anticipated rematch that's almost guaranteed to happen.

    Cinderella: Sherman-Newman Smith winner

    Class 4A Division II:

Best potential 2nd-round matchup: This is a tie between Lake Dallas-Everman and Aledo-Stephenville.

Easiest road to Final Four: I'm saying Denison here after a potential first-round shootout with Richardson Pearce.

    Cinderella: Rockwall-Heath
