Josh Hamilton has put together some frustrating at-bats since his return from knee surgery over the weekend in Houston, that can't be denied.
The embattled former AL MVP has also played well in left field, especially on Monday night when he made several plays that Mike Napoli would've never made in the field.
But there was Napoli again on Tuesday in left, mainly because Hamilton just isn't ready to go on back-to-back days quite yet.
Rangers manager Jeff Banister said with all things considered, he's still going to use Napoli in left field against left-handed pitching, mainly because the Rangers have been tremendously successful in the win-loss column with that lineup, even if the Napoli opportunities in the field have been cardiac arrest inducing.
"I'm going to run the lineup out there that has been successful for us against left-handers," Banister told reporters. "We have players we feel like can do different things for us."
Since his return, Hamilton is 2-for-10 with two singles and a walk, but did prove he can move in the field on Monday night in the Rangers' loss to Detroit.
"We like to see him running around, but it's about offense," Banister said. "It continues to get better."
