Hamels Looking for Lucky No. 13

Cole Hamels is 12-1 in his career as a Texas Ranger, dating back to last year when he was acquired at the trade deadline shortly after tossing his first career no-hitter against Jake Arrieta and the Chicago Cubs.

That one loss as a Ranger came in his second start with the club when he allowed three home runs in Seattle. Since then, he's 12-0 and has never lost a game in Arlington.

Both of those streaks will be on the line on Friday night when he opens a big Interleague series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, who are in the unenviable position of chasing the Cubs in the NL Central but comfortably in second place.

Things are about to get really fun for Hamels, especially if he can extend his personal win streak to 13 games and his unbeaten streak at Globe Life Park to eight games, and that's because he'll get to sit back on Saturday and watch his new rotation mate Yu Darvish do his thing. Hamels and Darvish back-to-back in the rotation — just like we always envisioned it.
