TCU's Gray And Turpin Getting Some Preseason Hype

The 2016 college football season is right around the corner and a couple of TCU players are getting some preseason hype. Wide receivers DeantΓ© Gray and KaVontae Turpin appear on the watch list for the 2016 Maxwell Award, presented to America's College Player of the Year.

Gray was one of the Horned Frogs big play weapons during the 2014, but missed the entire 2015 season due to injury. Gray also excelled in the classroom, he earned his degree back in May.

Turpin is hoping to avoid the sophomore slump after an impressive freshman campaign. He was named a Freshman All-American and to the All-Big 12 team. The Monroe, Louisiana native set Horned Frogs freshman records with 45 catches for 649 yards and eight touchdowns, and he was the only player in the country last season to rank in the top 25 in kickoff returns and punt returns.

The TCU Horned Frogs will open the season September 3 against South Dakota State at Amon G. Carter Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00pm.
