Grambling State Pulls Away for 34-17 Victory

Frank Warren rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns Saturday as Grambling State pulled away in the second half to beat Prarie View A&M 34-17 in the State Fair Classic.

Warren scored the go-ahead touchdown on a 12-yard run in the third quarter to put the Tigers on top 20-17. Grambling (2-1, 2-0 SWAC) added two more scores in the fourth quarter on a 59-yard pass from Anthony Carrothers to Kiare Thompson, and a 66-yard run by Cornelius Walker.

Carrothers was 10 of 16 passing for 152 yards. The Tigers piled up another 288 yards on the ground.

KJ Black was 20 of 32 for 247 yards and a TD for Prarie View (1-3, 1-2). His 17-yard pass to Shaun Stephens put the Panthers ahead 17-14 before Grambling scored the final 20 points of the game.
