Gilley's, Site of Trump Rally, Owned By Mavs' GM Donnie Nelson

Donald Trump is planning to host a rally in Dallas Thursday at Gilley's South Side Ballroom.

Gilley's is owned by Dallas Mavericks general manager Donnie Nelson, whose boss, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, has been critical of Trump on a number of issues over the years.

I asked Nelson if he was endorsing Trump, supporting his bid for the presidency and if Cuban had any issues with him hosting the rally.

Nelson said, "no on all Newy...we're a venue just like the AAC that hosts Democratic, Republican and Independents. As long as it supports America!"

Cuban told me his reaction to Nelson's business hosting the GOP presumptive presidential nominee late Wednesday saying, "We would host him at the [American Airlines Center] again if he paid us, why wouldn't Gilley's host him if he pays them?"

In September, an estimated 15,000 people attended a public rally for Trump at the AAC.

This election cycle, Cuban has been very critical of Trump on cable news shows and on Twitter, questioning his judgment, his fundraising ability and even questioning if he truly is a billionaire.

Cuban said to Buzz Feed News earlier this month that Mr. Trump would be a "puppet president...because of his lack of depth of knowledge."

NBC 5 Sports has reached out to Nelson for comment, but he has yet to respond.
