Free Likely Out 3-4 Weeks

Doug Free wasn't a popular character around here for a long time. He was an underperforming, overpaid offensive lineman that was just one of many personnel problems on the Cowboys' roster during their mediocre seasons.

The Cowboys appear to have shed that mediocre tag this season, and give Free credit because he's been a part of the best offensive line in football leading the best rushing attack in football.

But on Sunday, Free was on the turf after suffering a fracture in his foot and now the Cowboys will be without his services for three to four weeks, as owner and GM Jerry Jones told 105.3 The Fan on Tuesday.

The injury throws a wrench in the Cowboys' rushing attack because it messes with the cohesiveness of that unit that has been so dominant, even if Free probably is the weakest link of the bunch. Now, Jeremy Parnell takes over after coming into Sunday's game and immediately making an impact when DeMarco Murray ran behind him at right tackle for a huge touchdown on his first snap of the game.

Parnell was awful in training camp and had many wondering if he'd even make the roster, so it is definitely a concern, but he showed enough on Sunday to move forward with some confidence especially when you consider those beasts around him.
