Flower Mound Native Makes Nat'l Gymnastics Team

Steven Legendre, who is originally from Flower Mound, was named to the 2011 United States Men's National Gymnastics team Friday.

USA Gymnastics named 10 of the 15 members of the U.S. Senior National Team after the conclusion of the men’s competition at the 2011 Visa Championships Friday night.

Legendre now lives in Jefferson, N.Y., and competes for Team Hilton Honors. His teammate Jonathan Horton of Houston also made the U.S. Senior National Team.

Ten gymnasts were selected based on a points system, five athletes will be selected by committee and announced on Saturday.

The 2011 U.S. World Championships Team will also be announced by Saturday night.
