Fantasy Land: Studs and Duds, Week 9

A two-time champion in a hardcore keeper league, including some know-it-all media "experts," Adam Boedeker gives his fantasy expertise on a weekly basis.

Stud of the Week

Carson Palmer, QB, ARI — Did you see what Colt McCoy did against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night? Yes, Colt McCoy. He fell just shy of 300 passing yards as the Cowboys lost Justin Durant and saw an awful performance from Barry Church.

So guess what Palmer is going to do? Hint: It's probably going to be pretty good. Palmer saw Larry Fitzgerald have his best game in years on Sunday, saw his No. 1 receiver Michael Floyd go without a catch and saw the emergence of rookie wideout John Brown, who caught the big game-winning touchdown. He has plenty of weapons, and he should be in store for a good week.

Honorable mention: Ben Roethlisberger, PIT (vs. BAL); Mark Ingram, NO (at CAR); Chris Ivory, NYJ (at KC); Martavis Bryant, PIT (vs. BAL).

Dud of the Week

Torrey Smith, WR, BAL — A couple of things are working against Smith when the Ravens travel to Pittsburgh for a fierce clash between two rivals. One, Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco has traditionally struggled on the road. Two, Smith also tends to struggle on the road. Third, Smith has struggled historically against the Steelers.

As you can see, there just isn't much working in Torrey Smith's favor this week, so you're better off going another route.

Honorable mention: Marques Colston, NO (at CAR); Andre Williams, NYG (vs. IND); Darren McFadden, OAK (at SEA); DeMarco Murray, DAL (vs. ARI).
