Fans Travel to Texas to Watch U.S. Women's Soccer Team

The U.S. Women's National Soccer Team is captivating the world. Their game is strong, reaching far beyond the field and gaining fan bases across every generation.

On Friday, Toby Reser and his 8-year-old daughter, Madeline, arrived in Frisco for the weekend, where they will watch Team USA play against Mexico on Saturday. The pair flew all the way from Colorado so Madeline could watch her favorite player, Christen Press.

"I have never done something like this," said Toby Reser.

The father and daughter are bonding over soccer, but it's not like Madeline had to twist her dad's arm to make the trip. Dad is also a big fan.

"They win, so that's obviously exciting, and qualifying for the Olympics, that's also exciting," he said.

School is out this week in Colorado, so it was the perfect time for the two to travel and spend some time together.

"This may be the only chance she ever really gets to see them play as a team. They don't come to Colorado or anything," said Toby Reser.

Candice Murillo's children also love soccer. Her daughter was in school during the day, so Murillo came solo to get some gear at Soccer City for Saturday's match up.

"She's a huge Alex Morgan fan, so she's always wanted to see her play," said Murillo.

The mom was one of a few people at the business, but come Saturday the store – much like the stadium – will be filled with crowds.

"Before the game starts we have everybody come here – a lot of passion and basically a lot of enthusiasm towards whatever club or national team they're supporting," said employee Brandon Johnson.

Saturday's game is the second of three games the U.S. women's team will play at Toyota Stadium for Olympic Qualifying. Earlier in the week they beat Costa Rica 5-0. The third game is Monday against Puerto Rico.
