Ex-TCU Star Hughes Signs With Colts

Rookie expected to take part in Monday afternoon practice

Former TCU defensive standout Jerry Hughes is now a member of the Indianapolis Colts.

The Indianapolis Star reported the Colts signed Hughes to a five-year deal worth more than $12 million.

Hughes was expected to be at the team's afternoon practice.

Jerry Hughes starred at TCU earning All-America honors during the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Hughes also won the Ted Hendricks Award as the nation's top defensive end. He also wont the Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the year award in 2009.

Hughes helped lead the TCU defense on a team that finished with a 12-1 record.

As a player for the Colts, Hughes is expected to be a pass rusher shoring up the Colts' defensive line.
