Another January, another Derek Holland freak injury?
Almost.
But unlike a year ago when the Rangers’ pitcher suffered a serious knee injury when he tripped over his dog running down the stairs in his house, on Tuesday Holland escaped harm – but not humiliation.
“Yes,” Holland said on Twitter yesterday afternoon, “I was naked and fell in the shower. Hahaha.”
This time his dog Wrigley wasn’t to blame, but instead the 3.5 magnitude earthquake that rocked the DFW Metroplex around 3:15 p.m.
He missed four months of the season last year, but yesterday escaped any injury. It does beg the question though, who takes a shower in the middle of the afternoon?
