Date Set for TCU, BYU in Arlington

    The following information was released by Cowboys Stadium on Thursday:

    TCU and BYU will meet for the 11th time in their school’s history in a nationally televised game on ESPN2 on Friday, October 28, 2011. The matchup will take place at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas with a 7 p.m. CT kickoff.

    The game will mark the second appearance for both squads at Cowboys Stadium. TCU was victorious in its 2010 game at the stadium with a win over Oregon State. BYU played in the inaugural collegiate football game at Cowboys Stadium in 2009 with a victory against Oklahoma.

    This year’s contest between TCU and BYU will be the 11th meeting between the two schools, with the Horned Frogs owning the advantage in the series, 6-4. TCU ended the season ranked second in the nation with a 13-0 record, the Mountain West Championship and a victory over Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl in the Bowl Championship Series. BYU concluded the season with a 7-6 record and a win over UTEP in the New Mexico Bowl.
