Darren Woodson Headed to Cowboys Ring of Honor

Former Dallas Cowboys defensive back Darren Woodson will be the next player inducted into the team's Ring of Honor.

Team owner Jerry Jones made the announcement at Training Camp Tuesday afternoon, saying Woodson was a huge part of the defense in the 1990s and was a difference-maker on and off the field.

"This is an amazing day for me," Woodson said. "It's an absolute honor. This has always been my family.

Jones said the safety would be inducted Nov. 1 when the team hosts the Seattle Seahawks at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Woodson, a five-time Pro Bowler and the team's all-time leading tackler, spent 13 seasons with the Cowboys beginning in 1992. He played on all three of the Super Bowl teams in the 1990s and will be the second defensive player from that era to be enshrined in the ring -- Defensive end Charles Haley (1992-1996) was inducted in 2011.
