The Dallas Stars kick off the 2016-17 National Hockey League regular season against the Anaheim Ducks Thursday.
Puck drops at the American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m.
The Stars won the Central Division in the 2015-16 season with a conference best record of 50-23-9. They beat the Minnesota Wild in six games in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs, but were eliminated in seven games by the St. Louis Blues in the second round.
The Ducks won the Pacific Division last season with a record of 46-25-11 and lost to the Nashville Predators in the first round of the playoffs.
The Stars then travel to Colorado to face the Avalanche in their first road game of the season Saturday.
