The Dallas Stars open their regular season Friday against the Las Vegas Golden Knights, hosting the team at the American Airlines Center in their NHL debut.
Stars general manager Jim Nill announced the team's regular season 23-man roster Tuesday; the team is made up of 13 forwards, eight defensemen and two goalies.
"Additionally the club has loaned left wing Curtis McKenzie to the Texas Stars, Dallas' top development affiliate in the American Hockey League, and defenseman Patrik Nemeth was claimed off waivers by the Colorado Avalanche," the Stars said in a news release.
For the first time ever, the Dallas Stars team will take part in the KIA Victory Green Carpet Walk through Victory Plaza as part of the team's 25th Anniversary in Texas. The current roster, coaches, front office and Stars dignitaries will walk the carpet beginning at 4:00 p.m. and fans will have the opportunity to welcome them into the arena.
In honor of the 25th Anniversary Celebration, Stars Day One Season Ticket Holders that have been with the organization continuously since the 1993-94 season will also have the opportunity to walk down the KIA Victory Green carpet beginning at 6:00 p.m. The pre-game event is free and open to the public, with fans able to start lining up to watch the carpet walk beginning at 3:00 p.m.
