DFW Area Pulls Cy Young Sweep

Clayton Kershaw is becoming a virtual lock to win the National League Cy Young award on an annual basis, and the Highland Park native took home his third Cy Young on Wednesday night. But this time, Kershaw had some DFW company.

That's because Cleveland Indians starter Corey Kluber, who was a standout at Coppell, brought home the AL Cy Young award after a stellar season for the Indians that came a bit out of nowhere after a couple of good, not great, years.

Kluber's 2014 season, though, was great. He led the AL in stats (34) and wins (18), and his ERA of 2.44 was about as good as you can get in the AL if your name isn't Felix Hernandez.

Pretty cool deal for the game's two best pitchers in 2014 to be from the Metroplex and both are guys who were starring for powerful high school programs within the last decade.
