Cowboys Treading with Caution on Unfamiliar Turf

Dallas has been practicing at a London rugby park all week

The Dallas Cowboys are being cautious practicing on the turf at Allianz Park in London, which is noticeably different from the turf at AT&T Stadium, safety Barry Church said this week. The field is usually the home of Saracens Rugby Club, but Dallas has been practicing there all week.

I didn’t like the turf for my joints,” Church said, per Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. “We have to be careful with the turf... It’s a different feel [from AT&T Stadium]. I feel like the grass isn’t as long and there’s a lot of guys slipping. But we’ve got to be careful when we get out there.”

After Thursday, the Cowboys will have just one more practice at Allianz. They’ll have a walkthrough on Saturday at Wembley Stadium, where they’ll face the Jaguars on Sunday.
