The home of the Dallas Cowboys may now be in Arlington, but the team has looked elsewhere for fans to stay, eat and drink while attending games where "the crowd goes wild."

On Thursday, the Cowboys announced The Gaylord Texan Resort as the "Official Hotel of the Dallas Cowboys."

The hotel, arguably the nicest resort destination in North Texas, is a fitting choice for a team that will play in the finest NFL venue in the country.

So, the city of Arlington shouldn't feel too overlooked.  With the Gaylord's 1,500 rooms, Glass Cactus nightclub, well-regarded restaurants and other amenities -- there isn't much else in North Texas, let alone Arlington, that can compete.

"The Gaylord Texan has proven itself to be one of the finest hotels in our region in both accommodations and service," said Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones. "With their proximity to the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport as well as Cowboys Stadium, I can't imagine a more fitting place for our organization and fans to call home the night before a big game."

As part of the new relationship, Gaylord Texan recently hosted The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Swimsuit Calendar Release Party in its Glass Cactus nightclub and The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders team try-outs in its 50,000-square-foot Texas Ballroom.

The team said the resort will host additional events and promotions together throughout the coming year.

"As huge fans of our home team, we are extremely excited and proud to be partnering with the legendary Dallas Cowboys," said John Imaizumi, Gaylord Texan's senior vice president and general manager. "Our organizations share a passion for creating big entertainment experiences and, together, we will do great things."

Gaylord Texan guests visiting the Cowboys Stadium for games, concerts, and other events, can access special resort room rates by linking from the Cowboys Stadium website at www.stadium.dallascowboys.com and clicking on the word "hotel."
