As expected following an injury to Tyler Patmon, the Dallas Cowboys are looking for some cornerback help.
The rookie corner suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee in the first half of last week’s 31-17 victory over the Jaguars in London. The sprained MCL could keep Patmon out for up to a month, prompting Dallas to bring in three cornerbacks--Robert Steeples, Lou Young and Jonte Green--this week for an audition, ESPN Dallas reports.
Steeples came into the league in 2013 as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis, and has spent time with the Rams, Vikings and Chiefs. Young entered the league this year, undrafted out of Georgia Tech, and had a stint with the Ravens practice squad. Green was drafted by the Lions out of New Mexico State in the sixth round back in 2012 and appeared in 24 games with the team, starting seven. For his career, Green has 29 tackles, seven passes defensed and an interception.
Before the MCL injury, the rookie Patmon had seven tackles, a pass defensed and an interception that went for a 58-yard touchdown.
