Cowboys Hire Special Teams Coach

The Dallas Cowboys hired Joe DeCamillis from Jacksonville to be their new special teams coach.

The Cowboys have found a replacement for the deposed Bruce Read in veteran NFL special teams coach Joe DeCamillis.

According to the Dallas Cowboys web site, DeCamillis, the Jacksonville Jaguars special teams coach will become a member of Wade Phillips' staff.

DeCamillis is the son-in-law of former Cowboys running back and longtime NFL coach Dan Reeves, and worked with Wade Phillips when the Cowboys coach was an assistant in Denver and Atlanta.

He began his NFL coaching career as a defensive quality control coach with the Broncos in 1988.

DeCamillis has served as the Jaguars special teams coach the last two years.

He was previously a special teams coach for the Giants (1993-96) and Falcons (1997-2006).
