The Dallas Cowboys' Sunday loss to the Philadelphia Eagles killed the teams chance for the playoffs. The defeat also killed the spirit of thousands of fans.

"I was wearing a Marion Barber jersey, and about halftime, I took it off," said Sam Jackson, a Haltom City resident and lifelong Cowboys' fan. "The game hurt my feelings."

"We beat the Eagles the first time around. Why couldn't we have done it again? Beats me. Maybe it is the December curse," said Brittany Wolff, of Arlington.

The 44-6 loss now has fans playing general manager.

Eddie McDonald said he watched the Sunday's game and couldn't believe it. The Grand Prairie resident has been a Cowboys' fan for more than 20 years. He said he thinks the problem starts and ends with head coach Wade Phillips.

"I don't think they respect him," he said. "I think to be a leader, you have to to demand respect."

Other fans said they think the team's most visible player is the biggest distraction.

"You have to get rid of Terrell Owens," Shane Teague, of Arlington, said. "T.O. stands for "team obliterator."

Whatever the Cowboys decide to do will depend on owner Jerry Jones. Whatever he decides, loyal fans say, they'll back the team once the season starts again next year.

"Everybody is so quick to throw somebody under the bus, but you got to give them time to work together," Teague said.
