Cowboys Bring Back Fullback Tyler Clutts

The Dallas Cowboys are bringing back fullback Tyler Clutts, re-signing the veteran on Monday.

Clutts signed with the Cowboys prior to the 2013 season and has appeared in 20 games for the team over the last two seasons, starting one, including all 16 games last year. The team obviously likes what he brings to the table as a blocker, but he has no carries in the NFL.

He also has 10 career receptions, but eight of those came in his rookie season of 2011 with the Chicago Bears. With the Cowboys, he has one catch in each of the past two regular seasons, but he did record his first career receiving touchdown last year in the Divisional Round loss to the Packers.

Clutts’s contract ran out this offseason and initially it looked like Dallas would let him go. They signed journeyman fullback Jed Collins and second-year fullback Ray Agnew, but with the re-signing of Clutts today, they released Collins.
