With three confirmed cases of the Ebola virus and one death in the area, the Dallas Cowboys staff, led by head trainer Jim Maurer, have discussed the disease with the players, Jerry Jones said this week.
“Jim has made them aware of it,” Jones said, per David Moore of the Dallas Morning News. “The league has sent some things out that he has made them aware of. The biggest thing is so they are educated and understand where it is. It’s just education.”
ESPN reported Wednesday that, in anticipation of their trip to North Texas this weekend, the New York Giants have been briefed on Ebola as well. While cornerback Prince Amukamara opined that some players might not bring family members on the trip where they otherwise would, quarterback Eli Manning says the team isn’t overly concerned.
"I'm not worried about myself or the team," Manning said. "With what we're doing and where we're staying, I think we'll be fine."
