10. I realize there are bigger, hopefully better things on this season’s horizon, but this victory ensures that Jason Garrett won’t have a losing record in any of his four seasons as head coach. 8-8 is guaranteed. Much more promising, since 2000 39 of 42 teams that started the season 8-3 made the playoffs.
9. Kudos to Tyron Smith. He’s a great player who’s having a mediocre season, but his domination of Jason Pierre-Paul on Dallas’ winning drive was epic.
8. Combine Dez Bryant’s three best catches and they fall short of Odell Beckham’s one-handed touchdown snag. Seriously, you’ll tell your grandkids you were lucky to see it live. Ranks up there with not only the greatest catches in the NFL, but in any sport. Willie Mays’ back-to-the-infield basket catch in the 1954 World Series has serious company. And let’s be honest, Beckham’s catch came closer to breaking the Internet than Kim Kardashian’s naked booty.
7. While we were slobbering over Beckham’s catch and feeling sorry for Brandon Carr getting posterized, the Cowboys calmly drove 77 for a touchdown to pull within 14-10. Tony Romo’s shovel pass to Jason Witten wasn’t quite as acrobatic, but worth the exact same amount of points.
6. The Cowboys are the NFL’s only unbeaten team on the road at 5-0. And they’ve won their last three road games against the Giants.
5. Barry Church made the pick and all, but a big assist in the Cowboys’ comeback goes to Eli Manning for his absurb overthrow of a wide open Preston Parker at Dallas’ 10 with his team driving for an apparent 28-17 lead. Game. Changer.
4. Beckham’s 10 catches had style, but Dez Bryant’s 13-yard touchdown catch with 1:01 remaining was pure substance.
