Countdown to Super Bowl XLV Begins

With the Super Bowl XLIV Champion decided last night in Miami, the countdown is on for local businesses and promoters bracing for next year's edition, which will come to JerryWorld next February.

Signs of the event's promotion were ubiquitous in the obligatory pomp and circumstance of the week leading in to the Colts-Saints showdown.

A booth, featuring Cowboys Stadium's signature arches and center-hung video board, was erected at the media center in Miami and drew large crowds, according to reports. Newly enshrined Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith made an appearance, and Cowboys' legend Roger Staubach unveiled the Super Bowl XLV logo in a crowded ceremony.

North Texas host committee president and CEO Bill Lively said that the all-important final phases of preparation for the event--which is the largest of American television and all of sports--began in earnest when the clocks ran to zero last evening.

"As soon as this game is over, we're on the clock," Lively said on Sunday, per the Dallas Morning News. "Every tick will sound like an explosion."

The stadium, which opened last summer at a cost $1.2 billion, will host the NBA All-Star Game next weekend.
