Could Ajayi Be Latest Boise St. Product to Come to Dallas?

Boise State's Jay Ajayi was one of a handful of running backs to meet with the Cowboys this week

Among the running backs the Dallas Cowboys have met with this week in Indianapolis is Boise State’s Jay Ajayi, who went to high school at Frisco Liberty here in North Texas.

Preparing for the draft, which begins on April 30, Ajayi knows well that the Cowboys have a history of selecting players out of Boise State. They picked cornerback Orlando Scandrick in the fifth round back in 2008, and defensive lineman Tyrone Crawford in the third round in 2012.

Last year, the Cowboys traded up to land Boise State defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence early in the second round.

It feels good to know that teams like the Cowboys really enjoy drafting Boise State guys,” Ajayi said, per the Dallas Morning News. “They know that they’re well-coached guys, guys who go into work every day that will grind for your team and will do their job.

“It’s cool. We talk about how so many of our Boise State guys are on the Cowboys.”
