Coach Gary Patterson Signs Contract Extension With TCU

TCU head football coach Gary Patterson signed a contract extension through the year 2022.

The school's athletic director, Chris Del Conte, announced the extension Tuesday.

"Gary Patterson is synonymous with TCU and Fort Worth," Del Conte said. "His value to our community goes beyond the football field."

The Horned Frogs are 23-3 during the last two seasons under Patterson, including a 15-3 mark in the Big 12. They reached the 10 wins mark 10 times during the last 14 seasons.

The team has finished in the top 10 in the last two seasons and five times in the last eight.

"It’s obviously a great day for our Horned Frogs Family when Coach Patterson reiterates that TCU and Fort Worth are his home," Del Conte continued.

Patterson enters his 16th season as head coach and 19th year overall at TCU.  He is the third-longest tenured FBS head coach in the nation.

Patterson is TCU's all-time winningest coach with 143 victories. He has totaled 20 national coach of the year awards and his .753 winning percentage ranks fifth nationally among active coaches.
