Cause of Death Released for SMU Student-Athlete

Hannah Moss was a member of the SMU track and field team

The Dallas County medical examiner has released the cause of death for a 20-year-old Southern Methodist University athlete who died in March.

Hannah Moss died from cardiac arrhythmia, or an irregular heartbeat, officials said.

The Austin native was a member of the SMU track and field team and Chi Omega sorority.

The medical examiner said it does not appear there was anything else in Moss' system that could have led to her death, and it was ruled as natural.

Her body was found at her off-campus apartment in Dallas after a friend requested a welfare check.
