A dominant USA Women's basketball team toppled Angola 90 to 38 on Tuesday.
Local Tamika Catchings of Duncanville added 7 points to Team USA's score. Four US women hit double digits for scoring, and every player on the team, sans the injured Sylvia Fowles, got at least one basket.
Angola fared much worse, with a shooting percentage of only 23 for two point shots in the game. The US did about three times better with a 69 percent statistisic for two pointers.
The numbers for the United States revealed their strong play with the team grabbing 40 defensive rebounds, 9 offensive rebounds, and 9 steals in the game.
Turnovers were an issue for both teams in the first half, with both Angola and the US having 11 before halftime. After the half, though, the US only turned over the ball an additional 3 times -- Angola added 10 more to their turnover number before the game ended.
The USA women will take on Turkey in their next game August 1 at 4:15 p.m. Central Time.
