Carson Wentz Reunited with Cowboys' Staff on Pre-Draft Visit

Wentz and the Cowboys' staff got to know each other well at the Senior Bowl in February

North Dakota State quarterback Carson Wentz had never been to Valley Ranch before this Wednesday, when he took his official pre-draft visit, but we can’t help imagine meeting with the Dallas Cowboys coaching staff felt very familiar for the highly-touted small-school star.

This is because Wentz and the Cowboys’ staff spent a good deal of time together at the Senior Bowl in February, even though Jason Garrett and the Dallas staff was coaching the South team and Wentz was playing for the North team.

Being with them in Mobile was fun,” Wentz told the team’s official website. “It was fun from the standpoint that I love football—I love talking football, I’m passionate about it and I can tell they are too.”

Wentz did say his pre-draft visit on Wednesday felt a lot like that week in Mobile, AL.

“That week in Mobile and now coming here again today, it’s kind of been the same. Getting to know even some more people and being around it, this is a great place,” Wentz said. “Obviously it’s changing soon and that’s probably an exciting time for the organization, but it’s been cool to see some people again and then go into more discussion—especially meeting with Jerry Jones. It’s good to just feel it all out.”
