CFP National Title Odds: Where Does The Big 12 Stand?

CFP national championship game will be played on Jan. 8 in Atlanta, Georgia

What are the odds of a Big 12 team winning the college football national championship?

There are less favorable now than they were a few months ago, at least for Oklahoma. The Sooners were 9-1 favorites in January but have slipped to 16-1 in the latest from oddsmakers at Bovada.

The rest of the Big 12 slipped as well. Oklahoma State fell from 33-1 to 40; Texas from 28-1 to 40-1; TCU from 75-1 to 100-1 and Baylor from 250-1 to 500-4.

Over in the SEC, Texas A&M is at 150-1. Not really a ringing endorsement for head coach Kevin Sumlin, who’s on the hot seat down in College Station.

As far as the overall favorite to walk away as national champions once the smoke has cleared, that honor goes to Alabama at 12-5. USC follows at 6-1 and Ohio State at 13-2.

The battle for the Big 12 title is expected to come down to the Sooner State between Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. The Sooners are the preseason number one with the Cowboys right behind them in second place.

The Big 12 championship game is expected to take place in December at AT&T Stadium in Arlington.
