Bryant Close to Returning to Field

Dez Bryant is only an X-ray away.

The star receiver had his surgically repaired right foot examined Wednesday and – if the results are what doctors and the Cowboys expect – will return to the field later this month for the remainder of the team’s off-season program.

Bryant played in just nine games last season after breaking his foot in the season opener. He underwent surgery in January to strengthen a bone in his foot.

Said head coach Jason Garrett, “Hopefully he’ll be cleared to take the next step and then we have to decide what that next step is.”

If cleared, Bryant will likely work in individual and 7-on-7 drills at OTAs and will be on schedule to be a full participant when training camp starts in late July in Oxnard, California.
