Brawl Erupts Between Rangers', Astros' Minor League Teams

The growing rivalry between the Texas Rangers and Houston Astros has apparently trickled down through the minor leagues.

A brawl erupted during Sunday's game between the team's respective Double A affiliates — the Frisco RoughRiders and the Corpus Christi Hooks.

In the bottom of the second inning, Frisco pitcher Yohander Mendez hit Corpus Christi designated hitter Danry Vasquez on the leg with a pitch. Mendez wasted no time running to the mound.

Mendez and Vasquez tussled on the ground as the benches cleared.

The players were restrained, stopping the brawl within a minute, and returned to the bench shortly afterward.

Mendez, Vasquez and Corpus Christi outfielder Ramon Laureano were ejected from the game, according to the RoughRider's website.

The RoughRiders, who trailed 5-1 at one point in the game, came back to win 7-6.
