Benn on Getting Past Game 3: “You Have to Have a Short Memory”

The Stars led 1-0 on Tuesday before the Blues poured in six unanswered goals

Perhaps one of the most important things the Dallas Stars can do in preparation for their Game 4 matchup with the St. Louis Blues is simply forget about Game 3.

The Stars actually had a 1-0 lead on Tuesday, if you can believe it. If you can’t, we’ll assume you tuned in after the Blues got started on that offensive onslaught that netted six unanswered goal the rest of the way out. Final score, 6-1.

Now down 2-1 in the series, the Stars have no choice but to get over the loss and move forward. Game 4 is in St. Louis on Thursday night.

“This is playoffs. You've got to put that behind you,” Stars coach Lindy Ruff said, per the Dallas Morning News. “You've got to look forward. I think the team got a little frustrated with some of the calls. I know I got frustrated. They might have taken on my personality.”

Stars captain Jamie Benn echoed his coach’s sentiments.

"It's never good when you lose like that,” Benn said. “But it's a seven game series and in the playoffs, you have to have a short memory.”
