Beltre Wrongly Ejected on Banner Day

Adrian Beltre reached a really impressive personal milestone on Sunday when he passed Julio Franco as the Major League Baseball all-time leader in games played by a Dominican player.

Beltre is now tops on the list that includes names like Albert Pujols and Manny Ramirez, which is impressive in itself, especially when you consider he still seems to have a couple of pretty good years left in him.

That was all fine and dandy, but Beltre didn't get to finish the game as he was ejected in the fifth inning when he was wrongly accused of arguing balls and strikes from the dugout. After the game, he and Prince Fielder both said it was, in fact, Fielder who was chirping at the home plate ump.

Shortly after Beltre was wrongly tossed amidst mass confusion, Rangers skipper Jeff Banister was also ran after defending his confused player.

Beltre has gotten hot over the past month or so and has improved his numbers along the way. He's now hitting .266 with a .307 on-base percentage, which both rival his last season in Seattle and the worst year of his career, but he started so poorly this year it's a bit misleading. He also has 11 homers and 39 RBIs in 104 games.
