Army Could Appear in Armed Forces Bowl

The Armed Forces Bowl has reached an agreement with the U.S. Military Academy that would allow Army to play in the 2010 game if certain conditions are met.

The bowl is scheduled to feature a team from Conference USA opposing a team from the Mountain West. If either conference has an opening among contractual bowl agreements at the end of the 2010 regular season, Army would then have the opportunity to compete in the bowl.

The Black Knights would need to have six wins prior to their annual game with Navy (Dec. 11) in order to secure their spot.

Owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, the Armed Forces Bowl has featured a military theme since 2006.
