Arlington Martin High School Alum Selected No. 1 in 2017 NFL Draft

Myles Garrett probably doesn't need an introduction to North Texas football fans.

The fans in Cleveland will get to know Texas A&M pass rusher and Arlington Martin High School alumnus Myles Garrett soon enough after the Browns selected him as the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft Thursday.

Garrett was rated as a 5-star recruit in high school in 2014. The nation's top-ranked edge defender and second overall recruit.

As a freshman for the Aggies, Garrett broke the SEC freshman sack record with 11.5. He then led the SEC with 12 sacks as a sophomore. He was limited by injuries as a junior, but he still ended up being named to the All-America team.

The Cleveland Browns select Texas A&M pass rusher and Arlington Martin High School alumnus Myles Garrett first overall in the the 2017 NFL Draft Thursday.

Garrett decided to forego his senior season for the Aggies and enter the 2017 NFL Draft.

Garrett opted not to attend the draft festivities in Philadelphia, but rather to hold his own draft party in North Texas.
