Despite numerous opportunities to cut into Fort Worth's lead, Grand Prairie couldn't come up with a clutch hit to score, and fell 4-1 to the Cats.

Pat Mahomes threw an astounding 164 pitches in his complete game effort that included twelve hits, four runs, three walks, and five strike outs. Despite the performance, Mahomes was tagged with his fourth loss of the summer. Fort Worth's starter Ryan Riddle picked up his fourth win of the season after going seven innings, giving up seven hits, allowing only one run, walking three, and striking out four.

Once again the AirHogs got on the board first with a lead off homerun from left fielder Aaron Garza, his second in as many nights. However that would close the books on the scoring for the AirHogs as they were shutout the rest of the night.

The Cats would tie the game in the third when Aljay Davis led off by singling past a diving Brandon Carter. Back-to-back singles by Brian Fryer and Cameron Blair scored Davis to knot the game at one. They would go on to take the lead for good in the fourth when Michael Bell singled up the middle before Isa Garcia lined a double over the head of leftfielder Aaron Garza to make it 2-1. Matt Combs followed by grounding a single into left field to put runners on the corners. Brian Fryer then roped a single down the line off the glove of third basemen Derek Nicholson to score another run giving the Cats a 3-1 lead. They would tack on another run in the seventh from a John Allen homerun to left field.

Isa Garcia had another strong performance at the plate for Fort Worth going three for three with an RBI and a run scored.
