AL West Watch: Mariners Extend Seager

Every team in baseball has those few guys they just can't seem to get out.

For the Texas Rangers, names like Vladimir Guerrero (before he became a Ranger) come to mind, and as far as active players go, it pretty much starts and ends with Kyle Seager.

The young Mariners third baseman, who won his first Gold Glove this year, has always tormented the Rangers, even before he got to be a good player. But now, he's starting to torment everyone. Unfortunately for the Rangers, he's likely going to be in their division for years to come after he was given a seven-year, $100 million extension with an option for the 2022 season.

Seager hit .268 in 2014 with a career-high 25 homers and 96 RBIs while also winning his Gold Glove at third base.

Over his career, Seager has owned the Rangers, hitting .331 with 13 homers and 42 RBIs — more homers and RBIs than he has against any other team.

So enjoy that, Rangers pitching.
