Dirkumentary: Nowitzki Now a Big German Movie Star

Dirk Nowitzki has always been big in Germany and now he has the documentary to prove it.

Nowitzki last week helped unveil a new German-produced documentary about his life and career called Nowitzki: Der Perfekte Wurf, which translates into Nowitzki: The Perfect Shot.

A delegation of Mavs ranging from Monta Ellis to Rick Carlisle to Michael Finley flew to Germany to surprise the new movie star.

The documentary, released only in Germany so far, details Nowitzki’s rise from a tennis and handball player in Wurzburg to an NBA champion and future basketball Hall of Famer.

The film is in German with English subtitles. Though Nowitzki’s sweet shot is familiar in any language.

A native Texan who was born in Duncanville and graduated from UT-Arlington, Richie Whitt has been a mainstay in the Metroplex media since 1986.
