It is one of the most talked about conventions in recent memory.
Two weeks before the Republicans meet in Cleveland, there is no vice presidential candidate.
Donald Trump does not have the endorsement of all of the candidates who ran against him, all of whom signed a pledge at one point to support the nominee.
“They broke their word. In my opinion, they should never be allowed to run for public office again, because what they did is disgraceful,” said Trump earlier in the week.
There have been murmurs about efforts to get a different candidate at the last minute. Neal Katz, the executive director of the Collin County Republican Party, has been getting some emails.
“Yes, I am I’m getting it from different groups around the state and some nationally saying that, you know, Trump might not be the best choice,” said Katz.
Katz will be voting for Senator Ted Cruz, who took the state. He says he is pledged to him on the first two ballots by state party rules because of that vote. He says he will keep the pledge, but Trump deserves the nomination.

“He was not my first choice. I fully admit Ted Cruz was my first choice, but the people have spoken around the country. He’s gotten the most votes. He’s gotten the most delegates. He deserves to be the nominee,” said Katz.
He does think there could be some kind of movement at the convention to replace Cruz, but believes it will be minor.
“I think when push comes to shove, we’re going to look at a united convention, because the only way the Republican party is going to win in 2016 is to be united,” added Katz.
