Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani embarks on a two-day fundraising swing next month for Texas Gov. Rick Perry.

Perry, in the re-election fight of his political life with a Republican primary challenge from U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, will host Giuliani at fundraisers in Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Dallas, said Perry spokesman Mark Miner.

Perry baffled conservative activists when he endorsed Giuliani, a moderate Republican with liberal views on abortion, gays and gun control, in the 2008 presidential race.

Miner said the fundraisers would be held Sept. 15-16.
