Protesters Greet President Bush at SMU

Not everyone is excited about the groundbreaking ceremonies at the George W. Bush Presidential Center.

About 100 protesters marched to the campus of SMU, within a few hundred yards of the groundbreaking ceremony.

"I am protesting for the future for our kids and to stop this unjust war," said Meg Hillert of Dallas.

A group of former CIA professionals called "Veteran Intelligence Professionals for Sanity", or VIPS, helped organize the event.

"George Bush has not only thrown down the gauntlet, building a library and an institute to perpetuate the lies he told as President, but he's written a book," said Ray McGovern, a member of the steering committee for VIPS.

McGovern said the intelligence used to go to war was faulty. McGovern told reporters the Bush Administration is responsible for the deaths of thousands of Iraqi civilians as a result of the war in Iraq.

McGovern, a Washington D.C. resident, said he thinks the George W Bush Institute, a think-tank that is part of the center, will try and rewrite history when it comes to the Iraq War.
