Sunday talk show tip sheet

Former Vice President Dick Cheney shares the spotlight with continuing tributes to the late Sen. Ted Kennedy on this Sunday’s talk shows, just a day after the Massachusetts senator’s burial near his slain brothers at Arlington National Cemetery.
Cheney – a vocal critic of the Obama administration, particularly on national security issues – appears on “Fox News Sunday” and will surely discuss the administration’s decision to investigate the reported harsh interrogation tactics of the CIA.
Sens. Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) and John Kerry (D-Mass.) appear on ABC’s “This Week” to discuss Kennedy, their friend and long-time colleague, his legacy and who might fill his seat – and when.
ABC’s George Stephanopoulos will also host a political roundtable with the former vice president’s daughter, Liz Cheney; E.J. Dionne of The Washington Post, Gwen Ifill of PBS, columnist George Will and ABC’s Sam Donaldson.
Kerry also stops by NBC’s “Meet the Press,” along with Kennedy’s niece, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the former lieutenant governor of Maryland. Presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin and former Kennedy speech writer Bob Shrum round out the line-up.
Hatch also appears on CNN’s “State of the Union” and on CBS’s “Face the Nation” to talk about Kennedy and the emotional issue of health care reform.
Additionally, CBS has Rep. Barney Frank (D-Mass.), Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.). And CNN has Sen. Chris Dodd (D-Conn.); Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, Former Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Thomas P. O’Neill III, Boston Red Sox President Larry Lucchino and Kennedy’s nephew, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
C-SPAN’s “Newsmakers” hosts Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, who’ll be questioned on the nation’s flu-fighting plan by Lauran Neergaard of The Associated Press and Maggie Fox of Reuters.
Finally, Bloomberg’s “Political Capital” lands Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, a Republican critic of President Barack Obama’s health care proposals, as well as historian Robert Dallek, who’ll review Kennedy’s storied political life.
